    Department "General Psychology" SKSU named after M. Auezov is the only educational and scientific subdivision of the same profile in the southern region of the republic, possessing a strong pedagogical staff and a modern educational base for conducting training sessions at the highest level.
   The department conducts preparation of undergraduates in the specialty: 6M050300 "Psychology".

     Educational work of the department is aimed at promoting in-depth study of the state language, education of a poly-linguistic personality, organization of cultural leisure for students living in hostels, education of citizens for civil status and leadership, clarification of the annual Address of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan N.Nazarbayev to the people of Kazakhstan.

History of the chair

   The Department of Psychology was established in 1991 in Shymkent Pedagogical Institute of Physical Culture. The main task of the department was the training of psychology of students of the 1-2th year of all specialties.
Since 2005, the department began to prepare students for specialty 050105 - "Defectology", specialty 050103 - "Pedagogy and Psychology".

Educational work

     Annually in September, students and curators of training groups participate in the action "Day of Knowledge". In all training groups, the Presidential Mile-Path to Health events are held.

Educational-methodical work

    The organization of the educational process and work at the department meets the requirements of the State Educational Establishment of the Republic of Kazakhstan and other normative document. Modern innovative pedagogical technologies are introduced at the department. These are presentations, glossaries, tests.

   11/17/2017 at 9.35 am, associate professor A.T. Balabekov, in the discipline "Спорт негізі қолданбалы дене тәрбиесі" in the group FC 14-1к1,2,3,4 conducted an open lesson on the topic "Спортшы дайындығы-көп жылдық үрдіс ретінде". The lesson was held in the 10th Corps, No.31 auditorium.

   Every year there is held students conference, military and sport competitions, management games and circular tables. Throughout the training period the students keep going for field meetings to “Aktas” firing ground and also make tours to historical places and natural sights of the region.

        On 6th, 7th of April in 2017 There was hold the nineth Republican Olympiad among students of “Basic military training” in E.Buketov Karaganda State University where successfully participated students team of M.Auezov South Kazakhstan State University, which won the II medal place and took appreciation letter from Ministry of science and education of RK.

   The chair “Basic military training” of M.Auezov South Kazakhstan State University is a sole training-scientific unit in the south region of the Republic for such specialization having strong pedagogic staff and modern training base for teaching at the highest level.

History of the chair

   The specialty "Initial military training and physical culture" was created in 1995 on the basis of the department. Theory of the methodology of physical culture. The first head chair was appointed c.p.s, assistant  professor Tleulov E.Zh.
